Nigerian Senate Postpones Ministerial Screening
In a tweet via its Twitter handle @NGRSenate, the Senate which resumed for plenary today, said: “Ladies and gentlemen, there will be no ministerial screening today (Thursday). We will continue on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. We will tweet CVs of new nominees.”
Despite the postponement of ministerial screening, the Senate still continued with the day’s legislative activities.
Details of why it postponed the screening till a later date is still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
So far, of the 36 ministerial nominees, 18 have been screened by the Senate.
The remaining 18 nominees awaiting screening are Rotimi Amaechi, Barr. Adebayo Shittu, Bukar Ibrahim, Cladius Omoleye Daramola, Prof Anthony Onwuka, Geoffrey Onyema, Dan Ali, Barr James Ocholi, Zainab Ahmed, Okechukwu Enelamah, Muhammadu Bello, Mustapha Baba Shehuri, Aisha Abubakar, Heineken Lokpobiri, Adamu Adamu, Isaac Adewole, Abubakar Bawa and Pastor Usani Uguru.
However, the 18 ministerial nominees already screened, cleared and confirmed by the Senate as full time ministers, but awaiting to be assigned portfolios by President Muhammadu Buhari include:

2.Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti)
3.Audu Ogbeh (Benue)
4.Ogbonnaya Onu (Ebonyi)
5.Osagie Ehanire (Edo)
6.Abdulrahman Dambazau (Kano)
7.Lai Mohammed (Kwara)
8.Amina Ibrahim Mohammed (Gombe)
9.Suleiman Hussaini Adamu (Jigawa)
10.Ibrahim Usman Jibril (Nasarawa)
11.Babatunde Raji Fashola (Lagos)
12.Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu (Delta)
13.Abubakar Malami, SAN (Kebbi)
14.Chris Nwabueze Ngige (Anambra)
15.Aisha Jummai Alhassan (Taraba)
16.Solomon Dalong (Plateau)
17.Kemi Adeosun (Ogun)
