Boy Playing With Gun Shoots 10-Year-Old Relative in Chicago

Police say an 8-year-old boy accidentally shot and injured a 10-year-old relative while playing with a gun on Chicago's South Side.

The older boy was struck in the ribs and hospitalized.

The shooting happened Thursday morning in the Brainerd neighborhood.

According to abc news, police have not said how the boys got the gun or to whom it belongs.

Parents and guardians should stop keeping arms where children will reach... If they don't have any conducive place to keep the guns, then they shouldn't purchase one.
