Khloé Kardashian has been on an emotional rollercoaster over the past few weeks, celebrating big highs (sister Kendall’s 20th birthday and Victoria’s Secret modeling gig) and serious lows (almost-ex-husband Lamar Odom’s drug overdose and recovery from a coma).
And in a newly released (and extra-sassy) photoshoot, Kardashian proves
how she’s able to ride that rollercoaster so well — with humor and more
than a little exposed leg.
Kardashian chatted with Yahoo Style editor-in-chief Joe Zee about her complicated relationship with her ex husband Odom, as well as her current boyfriend, basketball player James Harden.
“I’ve learned from experience you just never know what happens in
life. I’ve chosen to keep things closer to my heart until I figure it
out,” she says of trying to lay low while it works itself out. “I love
hard, I love who I love, and I don’t make any qualms about it. And I
can’t wait for that to happen. I think I was so open and honest about my
relationship with Lamar — which I don’t regret for a second; it was the
best time of my life. But because you can’t just show these wonderful
things and then not show the other stuff — like ‘Oh! Lamar disappeared!’
I had to explain I was going through a divorce, and people appreciate
that and relate to it.”
But despite her new “you never know what happens” philosophy, that
doesn’t mean she’s going to take family planning advice from elder
sister Kim Kardashian, who herself struggled with fertility.
“I mean, there has to be eventually!” she says of having “little
Khloés” running around. “Kim’s trying to talk to me about freezing eggs
but I’m like, B—h, how old do you think I am?”
She also admits to being competitive (in a silly way) with her 18-year-old sister Kylie, at whose birthday party Khloé appeared in a head-snapping sheer black mini.
And the one-upmanship (especially now that Khloé’s was intentional.
“I’m like, This 18-year-old little b—h is not going to show me out, so
I’m about to dress up and I’m about to show her out,” she says. “We are
very competitive with each other but in like a fun, friendly way and so I
had to show the 18-year-olds that mama can still get it.”
