Armed Suspect Taken Into Custody at Arkansas State University, Officials Say

An armed man was surrounded at Arkansas State University Thursday afternoon after driving a pickup truck onto the center of campus, officials said.

No one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired, according to an Arkansas State University press release.

The incident began when a suspect "drove a pickup truck into center of campus" and the University police department issued a campus-wide text alert urging everyone to lock their doors and shelter in place.

The suspect, who was in custody, has not been identified, according to the Associated Press.
