During his birthday celebrations last night with his family, Oliver, a huge “Cake Boss”
fan, got the surprise of a lifetime. His colorful, imaginative drawing
of a cake he had done just days earlier turned into a reality equipped
with his “Star Wars” characters, stripes, swirls and all.
Needless to say, he was floored.
“He had no idea it was coming, nor did he ask for it,” Oliver’s mom, Marlow Sipes, told ABC News.
“He was so excited. He first looked at it kind of sideways and then his
face lit up. It was adorable. He bent over and looked in the trap door
and was so excited.”
The little boy’s wild imagination turned into reality thanks to his
father’s coworker and baking enthusiast, Alyvia Munos, who loved taking
on the challenge.
“It was definitely one of the most fun cakes I’ve ever made,” said
Munos, who is receiving lots of praise online for her depiction. “A
little kid pictured it and that’s exactly what he was wanting, and it’s
fun to know that’s what he got. It’s awesome. That’s why I’ve always
made cakes. His reaction is the best.”
Ever since Oliver’s dad, Scott, posted the photo comparison to Reddit, the side-by-side comparison has gotten more than 1.2 million views.
“He is very artistic and is obsessed with ‘Cake Boss,’” said Marlow.
“He’s been saying since he was 3 or 4 that he was going to be a ‘cooker’
when he grows up. He had gotten a bunch of Sharpies for Christmas and
just decided he was going to draw this cake for fun. He had been
watching ‘Cake Boss’ and knew his birthday was coming up, so he drew it
and showed it to us. He loves stripes and ‘Star Wars’ and candy. It had
all his favorite things on it. On bottom right there’s even a trap door
and he was so excited. She did such an amazing job of literally creating
his real-life imagination.”
There is one slight imperfection, however. Oliver is so thorough that he
wanted the “Star Wars” characters to be made of fondant instead of
actual toys.
“He’s very specific in life,” his mom said. “He has been since the day
he was born. He did want them to be fondant. You can even see on the
picture that there are sticks holding up the characters, so he was
planning on how they’d be propped up.”
Wow!!! All the details of his dream cake came to reality....This is really a dream come true...
