Céline Dion's Brother Is Dying of Cancer: 'No One Knows How Long He Has

Just one day after Céline Dion's husband René Angélil died of cancer, PEOPLE MAG can confirm that her brother Daniel is also dying of the disease and has just days left to live, according to a source.

"It could be any day now," the source says. "No one knows how long he has. She had heard that he might pass on Tuesday but he seems to be holding on."

Dion, 47, lost her husband to cancer on Thursday after he revealed in 2014 that it had returned following two previous bouts.


Daniel, 59, is one of Dion's 13 brothers and sisters.

"They're close, she's close with all of her siblings," the source says. "It's hard."

Dion has already canceled her Las Vegas shows following Angélil's death. She has tentatively scheduled her return to The Colosseum for Feb. 23.

"Celine is still in Vegas with her kids making plans for [her husband's] funeral," the source adds. "It's a typical grieving process. There's moments of shed tears, moments of memories and laughter. She's grieving the loss of her husband."
