This Man Had Himself SHOT Underwater So He Could Find Out What Happens......
A FEARLESS researcher fired a gun underwater using HIMSELF as the target – because he wanted to see what would happen.
Andreas Wahl filmed himself standing in a swimming pool in just his trunks as the loaded barrel of an assault rifle points directly at him.
Andreas can then be heard saying "shot coming" before counting down from three and firing the shot.
Astonishingly, he manages to keep his composure as he pulls the long rope that is attached to the trigger.
Luckily for Andreas – and in line with his predictions – the bullet does not hit him.
Instead of causing harm, the bullet sinks before it makes it even close to the scientist’s body - despite the fact that the bullet was shot with the same force as it would have been if it was fired on land.
In the YouTube video, Andreas says: "It's harder to create movement in water than in air, because water molecules are closer together than air molecules."
Although he was confident from the start, the footage does seem to show Andrea looking slightly relieved that he was not hit. He dives down to the bottom of the pool to retrieve the bullet that was shot and then victoriously waves it above his head, once out of the water.
According to the Science Channel' series Outrageous Acts of Science, guns work in the same way underwater as they do in the air – but because water is 800 times denser the bullet does not travel as far or as fast.
This increased resistance works to slow the bullet down, leaving it to sink to the bottom rather than firing at full speed.
