A woman in China has died after she fell into a river then drowned
because she was texting and wasn’t paying attention to where she was
going.
The married mother-of-two identified as Wang lost her life in an
avoidable accident after falling into a river while she was focused on
her phone.
Police released a video of the 28-year-old woman walking in the
middle of the road, but was too focused on her phone to realize that she
was walking to the edge of a ravine on Tuesday night.
She suddenly lost her footing and fell into the river. She struggled for one minute and then drowned.
Wang’s body was discovered the next morning by her husband Yang, who
found her shoe floating in the river while he was looking for her.
The Police in its statement warned residents to pay attention to
their surroundings, adding that the river was only chest deep but Wang
drowned because of the thick mud at the bottom that makes it difficult
to stand in the water.
