EVER wondered why the perfume you put on in the morning never lasts. It may be down to one common mistake that the majority of women make every day. According to experts, spraying the scent on to wrists and then rubbing them together is the WRONG way to do it.
In fact, it makes the scent disappear quicker.
A perfume guru at Penhaligan’s has revealed: “Rubbing the fragrance starts the evaporation process, so the fragrance won’t last as long if you do this.
“Instead spray twice onto the wrists, the chest and the back of the neck and leave to dry.” A spritz on the chest means the scent will waft gently throughout the day.
The reason for applying to the wrists is that the smell will be released
as you move your hands around, while talking, and the spray on the back
of the neck means you’ll leave a pleasant aroma behind you when you
leave.
Another key to making a lasting impression in the fragrance department is moisturised skin.
Penhaligan’s
expert told Good Housekeeping: “Dry skin absorbs the moisture in
perfume, which evaporates the perfume off the skin.”
