Child Shot As He Walked Through Chicago Alley

Chicago police say a 9-year-old boy was fatally shot in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the city's South Side.

Authorities say the boy was shot Monday afternoon in the head and back.

The Cook County medical examiner's office said the boy was pronounced dead after emergency responders arrived at the scene.

Chief of Detectives Constantine Andrews said late Monday that prior to the shooting, an unknown number of individuals were in the alley where the boy's body was found. They left the scene after the shooting.

Andrews says it wasn't immediately clear if the child was targeted or if the shooting was a case of the boy being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Authorities say no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

I still don't understand why some so called human beings enjoy killing innocent people.
