Police say 32-year-old Christopher Nelson was killed Friday, three blocks from his home.
Nelson's sister Danielle Krehbiel told KMGH-TV that her brother was walking home from a bar after drinking too much and thought the house was his. She says he served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
District attorney Mitch Morrissey said Monday that he interviewed detectives and the homeowner, who hasn't been identified, and decided not to file charges.
Colorado's self-defense law allows homeowners to use deadly force if
someone illegally enters their home and there's reason to believe that
person will commit a crime.
