Taunton police Sgt. Rich Carreiro said a 52-year-old woman, who police identified as homeowner Laurie Beliveau, made it out safely. No one else was home at the time of the incident.
Fire officials say they believe the explosion is gas-related.
Neighbors reported their houses shook when the explosion happened.
According to a Taunton fire dispatch, the explosion was reported Sunday at approximately 3:53 p.m.
