MEDICAL treatments for common ear infections can cost a fortune these days.
If
you prefer a more natural remedy, this incredible trick is proven to
provide relief from aches and pains and certainly won't break the bank.
Earaches
often develop as a side effect to a common cold, when the tissue in our
sinuses swells up and blocks the middle part of our inner ear,
preventing fluid from draining.
A build-up of fluid causes painful pressure and can lead to infection and, for some unfortunate few, a loss of hearing.
Children are particularly prone to this, but this self-healing trick will help alleviate their discomfort.
All you need is a clean, plain white 100% cotton sock and around one and a half cups of coarse sea salt.
It's vital you use these exact ingredients as alternatives will not be as effective.
Regular table salt won't work as it tends to seep out of the sock when warmed.
Pour the salt into the sock and tie a double knot at the end to secure it.
Next,
warm a pan on the stove over a medium heat before placing the
salt-filled sock inside, allowing it to heat for four to six minutes.
Be sure to flip and shake it up at least once a minute so the salt heats evenly.
When it is warm to the touch, remove the sock and place it over your aching ear, ensuring it rests on the area behind your jaw.
The
antiseptic salt will then work its magic to relieve aches and pains as
well as drawing out toxins and excessive moisture in the ear.
The salt sock can be reused several times, but you should replace it when it becomes worn, dirty or discoloured.
